Luxury Line Furniture Shopping
How do you avoid the high price of “high end” furnishings? Good question, but fortunately I do have an answer. First of all, never shop retail!! There are too many companies like ours that will sell the luxury lines at prices well below retail. If your taste in furniture draws your attention to the “higher end” lines you truly need to shop the web sites and check on closeouts, promotional, and discontinued items. Many websites have them and do publish pricing. You will still not be able to purchase as a dealer will, but the published price will be close. Then call a dealer and get their best price on the same closeout items. Talk about saving money on fine furniture. The one drawback is that you can’t order custom upholstery. You have to accept what they have, but the case goods are as shown in the intended finish. My best buys this month are with Century Furniture (www.centuryfurniture.com) go to PRODUCTS, and then to CLOSEOUTS & SAMPLE items. ... more
